One whole plant. Clinically studied for post-meal blood sugar.
Meet MANKAI®, a tiny aquatic plant that naturally contains a wide range of nutrients and has been studied for its impact on post-meal blood sugar.
In a 2024 human clinical study involving adults with Type 2 diabetes, researchers compared post-meal blood sugar responses after participants consumed either MANKAI® or water following dinner. Those who consumed MANKAI® experienced a 19.3% lower post-meal blood sugar peak compared to water.*

More research. More reasons to believe.
In another clinical study, back in 2019, researchers compared two dinner-replacement shakes: one containing MANKAI® and one made with yogurt.
In a randomized clinical trial, a MANKAI® green shake at dinner produced a lower, more gradual glucose rise than a calorie-matched yogurt shake. Glucose returned to baseline sooner and stayed lower overnight and into the next morning¹.

Still Curious? We've Got Answers.
In a randomized crossover trial, 45 adults with type 2 diabetes drank either a MANKAI® drink or the same amount of water after dinner, for two weeks each, while wearing a continuous glucose monitor. After the MANKAI drink, the post-meal glucose response was 19.3% lower on average. Results varied between participants. (Tsaban et al., 2024, Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism)
Researchers compared a MANKAI®-based dinner shake with a yogurt-based dinner shake matched for calories, carbohydrates, protein and fat. The study included 20 adults and measured short-term blood glucose responses after each meal. (Zelicha et al., 2019)
Both studies were run under controlled conditions, and individual responses varied. They show how MANKAI® performed in those specific settings, not a guaranteed result for every person or every meal. MANKAI® is meant to be part of an overall balanced diet.
No. MANKAI® is a whole food, not medication or a substitute for medical care. If you have diabetes or take glucose-lowering medication, talk to your healthcare professional before changing your diet or treatment plan.
MANKAI® is one whole aquatic plant, not a blend of many greens, with a rare variety of naturally occurring nutrients. It has been explored in 10 clinical and preclinical studies. A 5g scoop is an excellent source of iron, folate, vitamin K and Molybdenum and a good source of copper and vitamin A.
It can be incorporated into foods such as smoothies and yogurt. Follow the product label for serving guidance. These everyday uses were not the intervention tested in the 2019 matched-dinner study.
